Submarine Dive Controller

This capstone requires a question-specific abstract class and a question-specific interface, extended/implemented together by your concrete class.

Create an abstract class Submersible in Submersible.java:

Protected fields: String callSign, int depth, int integrity.
Constructor: Submersible(String callSign) starts at depth = 0, integrity = 100.
Getters: getDepth(), getIntegrity().
Method isLost(): returns true when integrity <= 0.
Abstract method: public abstract void dive(int meters);
Concrete method surface(int meters): subtract meters from depth, clamped so depth never drops below 0.

Create an interface DepthLimited in DepthLimited.java:

Abstract method: int crushDepth();
Default method: default boolean isImplodeRisk(int currentDepth): true only when currentDepth is strictly greater than crushDepth().
Default method: default int safetyMargin(int currentDepth): crushDepth() - currentDepth, but never negative (floored at 0).

Create a class AttackSub in AttackSub.java extending Submersible and implementing DepthLimited:

Private field: int crush (the crush depth, provided in the constructor).
Constructor: AttackSub(String callSign, int crushDepth) calling super(callSign).
crushDepth() returns crush.
dive(int meters): add meters to depth. If the new depth is strictly greater than crush, the hull takes 15 points of damage; integrity is floored at 0.
Method emergencyBlow(): set depth back to 0 and deduct 25 integrity (floored at 0).

Sample Run

AttackSub s = new AttackSub("Nautilus", 200);
s.dive(50); s.dive(50); s.dive(50); s.dive(50); // depth 200, integrity 100
System.out.println("Depth: " + s.getDepth() + "m | Integrity: " + s.getIntegrity() + "%");
s.dive(50); // past crush depth -> -15 integrity
System.out.println("Depth: " + s.getDepth() + "m | Integrity: " + s.getIntegrity() + "%");
s.emergencyBlow();
System.out.println("Depth: " + s.getDepth() + "m | Integrity: " + s.getIntegrity() + "%");

Expected Output

Depth: 200m | Integrity: 100%
Depth: 250m | Integrity: 85%
Depth: 0m | Integrity: 60%

Test Cases

VisibleTest 1 [Visible] (Sample Run)
Deep dive past crush depth causing integrity drop, then emergency blow.
